MEET THE TEAM

  • The Reverend David Ruthven - Rector

    The Reverend David Ruthven is the Rector of St Augustine’s Anglican Church, Hamilton. He has served as an Anglican priest for over twenty years, ministering in both urban and regional parishes and walking with people in faith through every season of life.

    David holds degrees in theology and management and brings broad experience in parish leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and strategic planning. He is committed to strong, thoughtful teaching grounded in Scripture and to rich, vibrant worship that draws people more deeply into the life of God.

    He believes the parish church should be a place where faith is nurtured, worship is joyful and reverent, and people are encouraged to grow as disciples of Christ.

    David is married to Sharon, and together they have four children. He feels blessed to serve the people of St Augustine’s and to share in the life of the Hamilton community.

    Amanda Goldsworthy - Children and Families Lay-Minister

    Amanda is a wife and mother of three. She is currently studying theology at St Francis College and has experience working in children’s ministry. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and catching up with family and friends.  She has been in the role of Children and Families Lay- Minister at St Augustine’s since the middle of 2024 and coordinates our Sunday School and Midweek Parents and Toddlers group.
