WELCOME
From the Parish Priest
Welcome to the Anglican Parish of St Augustine’s Hamilton, serving the communities of Ascot, Hamilton, Albion, Eagle Farm and Pinkenba in the City of Brisbane.
St Augustine’s is a parish shaped by the great Christian story: the living God revealed in Jesus Christ, renewing his world and calling a people to share in that work. Our life together is rooted in the conviction that the gospel is not only about personal belief, but about God’s kingdom breaking into the present through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
What makes St Augustine’s distinctive is the way strong biblical teaching is held together with rich Anglican worship. Scripture is read and taught within its wider story, helping us see how God’s promises find their fulfilment in Christ and how we are called to live as his renewed people here and now. Preaching aims to be faithful, thoughtful, and practical—forming disciples who think deeply and live differently.
Our worship is grounded in the Anglican tradition, centred on Word and Sacrament. The liturgy shapes us week by week, drawing us into the rhythm of God’s grace and reminding us that worship is both an offering to God and a participation in his renewing work. In prayer, music, and sacrament, heaven and earth are held together as we are formed for lives of faithful service.
St Augustine’s is a community committed to belonging and mission. We gather not to escape the world, but to be renewed for it to live as signs of God’s future in the present, shaped by hope, holiness, and love.
Whether you are exploring faith, returning to church, or seeking a parish to call home, you are warmly welcome at St Augustine’s.
I look forward to meeting you and walking together in faith.
